Meet Sophie Opperman, TopSpot’s Paid Search Department Manager

How long have you been working at TopSpot, and what do you do here?

Sophie Opperman, TopSpot PPC Department Manager

I have worked at TopSpot for almost 3 years now, my anniversary is in June. I started at TopSpot as a Paid Search Account Manager, managing pay per click advertising programs and creating strategies designed to drive leads for my client’s businesses. During that time, I also enjoyed working with and helping our newer Team Members with developing client strategies for their accounts, which led to assisting with new Team Member training. Later I was promoted to a Senior SEM Strategist and Trainer role, handling training for all of our new Paid Search Team Members.

This year I was promoted to my current role, Paid Search Department Manager, which allows me to work with our team even more, which I love. I really enjoy working with our new and current team members to help them learn and grow their knowledge of Paid Search.

What has been your favorite project at TopSpot?

One of my favorite projects so far was setting up and managing a paid search account for a roofing client who hadn’t done digital advertising before. After managing and optimizing his local PPC program for a year, the business he closed from his TopSpot PPC Program allowed him to hire more employees and begin offering benefits packages to his team.

Helping generate leads that result in the growth and success of our client’s businesses is one of the most rewarding feelings and one of my favorite things about my job.

What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?

Outside of work I love spending time with my loved ones, as well as my cat Remi, and traveling. Last year I spent two weeks in Italy with my family and it has been my favorite trip so far. I really enjoyed getting to experience the culture, visiting all of the beautiful landmarks, and especially enjoyed all the authentic Italian food. I cant wait to explore more of Europe in the coming years.

I also just recently got engaged!

My fiancé, Josh, and I were celebrating our anniversary and had plans to go to brunch that morning, but on the way, he said the restaurant had just emailed him and our reservation had been pushed back. (The reservation time was actually for the later time all along, but he told me it was earlier so that I would be ready with a little extra time.) Since we had some extra time, he asked if we could stop by his building to pick something up for work. From there, we ended up going on a walk down the building’s walkway that overlooked the Bayou and that’s where he asked me!

After brunch, we went to get drinks and he surprised me with both of our families and close friends gathered there to celebrate with us. It was an awesome day!

What are 3 words you would use to describe TopSpot?

Collaborative, supportive, and challenging.

Each member of our Team is always willing to help each other to learn more and grow our knowledge in our roles, as well as the other areas of our business. Our Team is eager to learn more and work together to be the best we can be. There is never a lack of support in our day to day, as well as in our lives outside of work. We all want to see each other succeed and challenge each other to do our best work for our clients. We push each other to develop innovative digital marketing strategies that help our clients generate meaningful leads and new business. We constantly challenge ourselves to develop impactful strategies that help to attain each of our client’s business goals.

What is your favorite part about working at TopSpot?

My favorite part of working at TopSpot is the people. Everyone on our Team cares about each other and wants to see each other succeed. They are knowledgeable and excited to learn more, as well as happy to share their knowledge with each other. The amount we all care for one another’s success also goes beyond the office. Our Team has always been very supportive and understanding of each other in our personal lives.

My grandfather recently passed away and the outpouring of support and love I received from our management team and my co-workers truly showed me the amazing character of everyone that I work with. The TopSpot Team goes well beyond what I could have ever hoped for from my place of work. I am truly grateful to be a part of this organization and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Here are a few things Sophie’s Team Members have to say about her via our internal “Cheers” platform, TinyPulse:

Long overdue, but thanks to both of for all that your support when it comes to PPC help. You both are willing to take time out of your day, on the fly, to answer questions, walk me through Editor, Google Ads, etc. You both have been integral in growing my PPC knowledge and helping move my client’s accounts forward. I appreciate all that you do!

I’m on an email thread (just as a copied observer) between Sophie and a contact on the client’s end, and I just want to say that Sophie is going above and beyond for her client and helping them with an organic traffic issue the client is having. She’s a pro at analyzing data and providing amazing service. We’re very lucky to have her on our team. Thank you Sophie for everything you do for the tracking team (and the rest of TopSpot) and our clients!

Thank you for going above and beyond for me and the other trainees from the moment we started! You’ve skillfully answered every question, given us a deep dive into the things we didn’t understand, and been willing to meet at the drop of a hat. Thanks for never making us feel like we were asking a dumb question or making you repeat yourself too many times. I’m lucky to have been trained by you!

I really appreciate the hard work you all have put into helping us stay organized while on-boarding the new accounts. You’ve brought quick insights (keyword suggestions, location settings, etc.), been diligent on managing access to previous analytics/ads platforms, and have been prepared for our meetings with nice presentation visuals. Glad you are on our team!
