Meet Megan Miller, TopSpot Project Manager
How long have you been working at TopSpot, and what do you do here?
This month I will be celebrating my 3rd anniversary with TopSpot as a Project Manager in our web department. My favorite part of being a Project Manager is the excitement of launching a new website! There are so many components involved in building a site from start to finish, it is a huge achievement for both our clients and our internal team when we cross the finish line.
How has TopSpot helped you in your career development?
The biggest impact on my career development was TopSpot allowing me to work remotely when my husband’s job relocated us to another state. Working from home takes an insane amount of discipline and has improved my communication, time management and efficiency. As a Project Manager, I work directly with our clients and all internal departments which has given me exposure to all aspects of what TopSpot does including, SEO, SEM, Web Design and Development, Analytics and IT.
What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?
My husband and I are die-hard South Carolina Gamecock fans! During the fall, our weekends revolve around college football.
We also love to travel. We got engaged in Florence, Italy 4 years ago and have been to 8 different countries in Europe and Asia since. On our most recent trip, we visited London and Portugal and next May we will be heading to Greece!
When we are not traveling or watching the Gamecocks you can usually find us on a boat or at the beach with our dog, Chloe.
What is one of your favorite TopSpot memories?
On my second day at TopSpot, we did a scavenger hunt that was centered around TopSpot’s Core Values. Ironically, the scavenger hunt happened to fall on the same day as a company-wide catered lunch. The last clue was supposed to lead us to a meeting room where the lights had been left on, chairs were not pushed in, etc. Instead, we accidentally cleaned the entire kitchen!
Needless to say, that is not what was intended but it made for a good laugh and an even better first impression.
What advice do you have for prospective TopSpot candidates?
Take notes, ask questions and don’t be afraid to ask for help.
Here are a few things Megan’s Team Members have to say about her via our internal “Cheers” platform, TinyPulse:
Congrats to Megan for a great job on your latest web project! The site is set to launch this week and when that occurs, it will have been completed in 85 business days! Thanks for all your hard work to make this happen.
Great job on your recent website project! The client provided post launch feedback and said “The whole process went awesome”. Way to go Megan! Thank you for all you do!
Megan, thank you for simply doing your job well everyday. I know I throw a lot of project questions at you, but you always respond promptly with the answers I need. You’re also the best person to ask for design inspiration because you can think of examples so quickly, which makes my job much easier! When I’m working with you, the process seems to run so smoothly, so thanks for all that you do. You’re rocking it!
