At TopSpot, we know every Team Member is a special part of our company’s success. Each month, we highlight some of the amazing people we get to work with every day. Today, we are shining the Spotlight on Lauren North. Her coworkers describe her as confident and insightful. Read on to learn more about Lauren, including what three words she uses to describe working at TopSpot.
Meet Lauren North, Senior SEM Specialist
How long have you been working at TopSpot and what do you do here?
I’m a Senior SEM Specialist and I’ve been working at TopSpot for 3 years. I moved to a new city and started my TopSpot career within the same week. Time flies! I manage paid search programs in Google and Bing and recommend PPC strategies and changes to our clients based on what I see in their data. My goal is to implement relevant strategies that will positively impact their business and help them achieve their goals, as well.
What is the most interesting thing about what you do here?
Getting to work with so many different industries and clients has probably been the most interesting aspect.
What are three words you would use to describe TopSpot?
Fast-paced: With an industry that’s always changing, we must constantly adapt and get ahead of any changes that could affect us and our clients’ online presence.
Collaborative: I love the people I work with; everyone is always so helpful and willing to share their knowledge to make sure you succeed. It’s great to have the opportunity to learn from one another and truly enjoy the people around you.
Challenging: Digital advertising is not without its challenges. I think an essential part of any job is to be challenged and get out of your comfort zone regularly, and this is where I find myself grow the most.
What would be an ideal day outside of work?
My favorite days are spent outside. This past year, my husband CJ and I got a German Shorthaired Pointer puppy named Rooster and invested in his hunting education. My ideal day would be going on a bird hunt in the morning with CJ and Rooster then watching college football in the afternoon (go TCU Frogs!) on an outdoor patio. End it with an Italian dinner, some good red wine, and I am in heaven.
What is your favorite childhood memory?
Every summer we would visit our grandparents in North Carolina on the Outer Banks and spend a week at the beach. They live on a small island in Manteo, so everything is very laid back and relaxing. One year, we rented a giant beach house with my extended family and could walk out to the beach from our back deck. We would have a ball digging in the sand for sand fleas and eating homemade lunches on the beach.
Here are a few things Lauren’s Team Members have to say about her:
“I am so thankful to have Lauren as a colleague and a member of the Paid Search team. She is always willing to share her knowledge with others and has helped many of our team members grow in their roles through training and giving advice. She is always up to date on industry news and trends, and we all benefit from her consistently bringing new and interesting updates to the team. She faces every situation with a positive attitude and we can always count on her to make us laugh with her great sense of humor. I know our whole team is grateful to work with her and have her as a resource.”Sophie Opperman, Paid Search Department Manager

Fantastic presentation today in the department meeting about mobile data and how to look at it! Because of your information and examples, I was able to find an opportunity in one of my accounts that I may have missed. You’re a rock star and thanks for sharing with us!
