Webinar Questions & Answers
What is an ideal page loading score for the upcoming algorithm update?
To provide a good user experience, sites should strive to have Largest Contentful Paint occur within the first 2.5 seconds of the page starting to load. To ensure you're hitting this target for most of your users, a good threshold to measure is the 75th percentile of page loads, segmented across mobile and desktop devices.
What can I do to make sure my site is loading as fast as possible?
A few ways include:
- Reducing the size of large images
- Compressing videos
- Moving images and videos below the fold
- Leverage browser caching
- Talk to your TopSpot Team
Does input delay also rely on the user's local connection speed? Is that somehow eliminated from the equation since it could be evenly applied to all users?
There are metrics that help eliminate the load time due to poor browser connections but that's why Google is specifically measuring "first delay input" as a ranking factor opposed or "time to interact", "time to first byte", or other similar metrics. FID is based on real-time user experiences, so interactions might be skewed if only a few are taken into account. Also, certain interactions like scrolling or zooming do not impact the FID.
What is PHP?
