SEARCH Homeless Services in Houston provides services and aid to those who are caught in the cycle of homelessness.

According to SEARCH, some clients have trouble with HUD inspections due to cleanliness concerns. During the COVID 19 crisis, this has become an especially important situation to remedy.

The TopSpot Community Service team collected cleaning supplies such as:

• sponges and cleaning cloths
• all-purpose cleaner
• laundry detergent
• toilet cleaning supplies
• mop buckets
• dish soap
• and more!

Then, TopSpotters gathered in the office on January 25th to help put together cleaning kits for families in need.

In addition to the cleaning supplies, encouraging notes were handwritten and included in the buckets.

That afternoon, all 100 buckets of cleaning supplies were taken to the SEARCH offices in downtown Houston.

One of SEARCH’s projects is the House of Tiny Treasures, an accredited pre-school program for children who have experienced homelessness. TopSpot will be working with them in March to help with their Spring Festival.

January also saw us joining in the #BettyWhiteChallenge! Between the contributions of our Team and TopSpot’s matching donation, we raised $1230 for the Houston Human Society. January 17th would have been Betty’s 100th birthday.
