TopSpot Team Member Spotlight: Nick Wheeler

Today, we are shining the Spotlight on Nick Wheeler. Read on to learn more about this incredible team player who also happens to be an amazing grillmaster!

Meet Nick Wheeler, Strategies Manager

How long have you been at TopSpot and what do you do here?

I’ve worked at TopSpot for about 5.5 years (6 years in February) and throughout that time I have held a variety of roles.

I started as an SEM Specialist where I managed the Paid Search Advertising for a variety of clients. After about 2 years, I moved into the role of Paid Search Strategies Manager. There, I assisted our Teams by making sure that our PPC strategies were aligning with our client’s business goals and producing lead-driven results. I’ve recently transitioned to a sales role where I’ve begun selling TopSpot’s services.

What is your proudest achievement at TopSpot?

I don’t have one achievement that I’m most proud of but I am proud when I hear from a client that we’re making an impact on their business. I am also pleased when I see a teammate have success with their clients and they get energized as a result. I love what we do because it really does make an impact on our clients’ businesses and lives.

Getting feedback from a client or seeing a team member experience that gratitude from our clients will always be my favorite part of what we do.

What’s one professional skill you are currently working on?

One of the parts of TopSpot’s culture that I really value is to always be learning. In my professional career, I haven’t always been the biggest reader but I’m trying to change that. I also tune into webinars or listen to audiobooks when I can.

What do you do when not at the office?

Outside of the office I love to spend time with friends and family. My wife and I just had our first son, Cayden, who is now 5 months old so he pretty much consumes most of our free time now.

Outside of that I also love to:

• Texas BBQ (I even have an Instagram account about my grilling adventures, Texas Pellet Smoking)
• Play or watch sports, especially basketball
• Travel (The second picture below was taken in Denver, Colorado and the third photo is from our trip to Barcelona)
• Fishing, hunting or anything outdoors
• Trying new foods and beers (I especially enjoy Lone Pint in Magnolia)

Who inspires you and why?

My whole life I’ve always been a  basketball fanatic. With “The Last Dance” just recently coming out, Michael Jordan is top of mind. His dedication, work ethic, and commitment to ensure that he and his team are successful is admirable.
