We are pleased to announce our achievements at the Business Marketing Association’s 2014 Lantern Awards of Texas. BMA is the largest B2B professional association and has been in operation since 1922. BMA Houston created the Lantern Awards of Texas 26 years ago for one sole purpose – to highlight top-quality creative and strategic business-to-business communications.

TopSpot was recognized with Awards of Excellence in two categories:

  • Website – Budget $25K or less for RTS Cutting Tools, Inc
  • Website – Budget over $25K for Associated Spring RAYMOND

The RTS Cutting Tools, Inc website was launched January 8, 2014. The site is a fully responsive website, in which all their content is available and responds to a smartphone or tablet screen. We also integrated Catalog Data Solutions‘ parametric search within the website catalog. It was important to the client that their website was a helpful resource for their B2B audience, so we implemented special functionality such as the Speed & Feed Calculator and a tabbed multimedia gallery.

The website has been a success as conversions on the redesigned RTS Cutting Tools website are up significantly. In its first seven months, conversions have increased 470% from 30 to 171. The website conversion rate has increased 67.25% from 1.41% to 2.35%. Traffic has increased 264.82% on mobile, 237.28% on desktop and 272.41% on tablets.


The Associated Spring RAYMOND website was launched May 5, 2014. It is also a fully responsive website. Beyond being viewable by their mobile audience, we integrated Catalog Data Solutions options on the site, which allows the ability to search the catalog and view products’ CAD and 3D models. It was the first time Catalog Data Solutions has been built into a responsive MODX website.

The site is robust and the client is very satisfied with the results. Conversions on the redesigned Associated Spring RAYMOND are impressive. In its first four months of launch, conversions have increased 772.83% from 103 to 899. The website conversion rate has increased 705.9% from .19% to 1.54%. Website revenue has increased 5,741.30% from $1,149.69 to $66,689.57. Traffic has increased 38.73% on mobile and 7.85% on desktop.


This isn’t the first time the Houston chapter of the Business Marketing Association has recognized TopSpot Internet Marketing: in 2011, TopSpot won two Awards of Excellence for the Farmers Copper website and mobile marketing strategy of Pentastar Aviation.
