TopSpot Team Member Spotlight: Hayley Talkington
At TopSpot, we value our Team Members and appreciate the unique strengths they bring to their roles. Each month, we showcase some of the people we are lucky enough to work with every day. Today, we are shining the Spotlight on Hayley Talkington. Her Teammates say she has a passion for her work and an incredible understanding of her clients.
Meet Hayley Talkington, SEO Specialist
How long have you been working at TopSpot and what do you do here?
I am an SEO Specialist on Enterprise 1 (shout to Mary, Nick and Kelly!) and I’ve been working at TopSpot for a little over a year now. I manage the organic presence of my clients on both Google and Bing, implementing strategies to ensure they show up in the most relevant search landscapes for their business.
What has been your favorite aspect of working at TopSpot?
The relationships I have developed with our clients and my Team Members. One of TopSpot’s core values is Building Relationships, a core value that I believe is at the heart of the work we do. Building trust with our clients, understanding their business and delivering on what is most important drives TopSpot’s success. But without a strong internal Team, none of that is possible. Working with Team Members from across departments, learning from their specialties and backgrounds, only make our work more effective.
What three words would you use to describe TopSpot?
Three words I would use to describe TopSpot include: goal-oriented, innovative and friendly. From my first day at TopSpot, I felt at home. I was lucky to start with a hiring group that I can now call some of my best friends.
TopSpot has an incredibly welcoming culture that sets us apart. Doing right by our clients is a top priority – supporting their business goals and looking for opportunities to move the needle.
Search marketing is ever-changing, pushing us to problem solve and strategize to generate results. TopSpot supports its Team in keeping up with the fast-paced nature of our industry and shifting trends.
What does leadership look like to you?
Leadership is about teamwork and enabling and motivating those around you to do the best work they can. To lead is to understand – understand both the client and the Team, supporting their mutual needs.
How do you like to spend your day when not working?
I am grateful to have grown up in Houston and have my family and many of my friends who I grew up with still living here. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my mom, dad, my brother, Jack, and our new puppy, Ladybird – sitting outside in the backyard. I love trying new restaurants around Houston and stay up to date with restaurant and bar openings. Prior to COVID, I attended spin classes at Revolution Studio, but have now switched to remote workout classes, both on the Peloton and a local Houston boutique studio, Dance House Fitness.
Do you have any hidden talents?
A few people a TopSpot know this, but I studied theatre in college and my first job prior to marketing was at the Alley Theatre in Downtown Houston. I’ve been performing since I was 4 years old and started taking voice and acting lessons from a young age. Performing has always been a passion of mine. My hope is to find more opportunities to do so once local theaters begin to reopen.
If you could travel anyplace in the world, where would you go?
Machu Pichu in Peru. It has been on my bucket list since I did a project on it in the 2nd grade. I’ve always been interested in Peruvian culture and enjoy hiking and spending time outdoors. Once travel is safer, it is at the top of my list!

Shoutout to E1 for and everyone involved in helping our team transition on to the account. Despite the account moving teams, each team member has been so helpful in giving us background info, following through on outstanding tasks and communicating throughout this time. I know everyone has a lot on their plate, but I really appreciate these team members helping us ease this process!
