Our latest Team Member Spotlight highlights Melody Tran, one of TopSpot’s Web Developers. Melody has been an integral part of TopSpot’s Website Design & Development Team for nearly five years now and is described by Team Members as dependable, helpful and a great communicator. If a Team Member has a question, Melody is quick to respond with new insights and context. Meet Melody Tran, TopSpot Web Developer

How long have you been working at TopSpot, and what do you do here?

I work on TopSpot’s website design & development team as a web developer and will be celebrating my 5 year anniversary this September!

What is your favorite part about working for TopSpot?

When I began working at TopSpot almost five years ago, I had very limited experience no experience with building websites in MODx, the content management system used at TopSpot. Thanks to the mentorship and coaching I’ve received from my Team Members over the years, I am very comfortable with MODx today!

What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?

Outside of the office, I love traveling with my 3-year-old son Kyle and my husband, Julian. At the end of every year, we always try to plan out where and when to take vacations for the upcoming year. 

I have lived in 3 different continents and traveling has always been a big part of my life. I believe traveling not only creates memories but it also creates meaningful relationships. We began taking Kyle to explore the world when he was an infant. We want to encourage him to meet people from other cultures and teach him to see the world outside of his own perspective.

How do you balance your career and family?

As a working parent, I think the key is to focus on a plan, get organized and find the right balance between spending time on your profession and with your family. Make the best use of your time at work by prioritizing your tasks, do your best work, be accountable and be confident in your experience.

How do you define success?

To me, success is being self-motivated, responsible and always have a positive attitude. The desire to improve is something I keep striving for every day at work.
