We are proud to have been recognized at the 2019 ANA Houston Lantern Awards
This year, TopSpot was awarded a Lantern Award for our work with TORKWORX, and two Awards of Excellence for our website and development work with Altius Technical Services and Nexeo Solutions. The Houston ANA (formerly BMA) created the Lantern Awards of Texas 31 years ago for one sole purpose – to highlight the year’s finest B2B work.
Only one Lantern Award is presented per category and is given to the highest scoring entry. Awards of Excellence are given to the next highest-ranked piece(s) in recognition of marketing excellence within each category.
TORKWORX specializes in the sale, rental, repair, servicing/ hiring and the consulting of well-engineered solutions for industrial bolting applications. As a small business with no outside sales team, their website was their only official lead generation channel. So, when they were ready to expand their engineering & service offerings and take their website to the next level, they turned to TopSpot, their digital marketing vendor since 2014.
With the TORKWORX Team’s goals in mind, TopSpot began by expanding the new website to focus on the many offerings TORKWORX provides. Each product series was given its own section, while its one services page was broken down into a section of its own.
The new website also had a quote cart with product pages that included additional resources such as brochures, manuals, product dimensions and specifications, which answer the questions potential buyers might have prior to purchasing a product.
Thanks to the new pages added to the sitemap along with the refreshed content that was created and geared towards TopSpot’s B-SMART Method®, TORKWORX saw a 1,014% increase in organic traffic post-launch and a 1,250% increase in form submissions.
Altius Technical Services
Altius Technical Services is North America’s first independent, professional IRATA and SPRAT rope access training company. Since 2012, Altius has become the benchmark by which all other training companies measure themselves.
As a current Pay-Per-Click client, they turned to TopSpot when they were ready to move forward with a new website. They wanted a mobile-friendly website design that had a clean interface that would help drive online transactions while putting emphasis on their rope training courses and team members.
The TopSpot Team’s first focus was on making sure that SEO was driving the structure and content strategy of the new website. The Altius Customer Relationship Team developed a sitemap that focused on SEO and usability. This included expanding out the location pages, the course descriptions, and using custom photos that highlighted the facilities and the trainers.
These changes led to an 85.96% post-launch increase in organic sessions over the previous year. The new site also increased the transactions from the PPC program by 450% and a 300% increase in organic-driven transactions.
A global leader in chemical and plastics distribution, Nexeo Solutions offered more than 22,000 products across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East from over 1,300 world-class suppliers. While Nexeo Solutions had a great story to tell, that value proposition and differentiated narrative did not come through clearly on their previous website.
The new website was designed to provide clarity regardless of where the user landed and was optimized the site for traffic from other touch-points, such as social media, digital ads, SEO and other marketing activities defined by Nexeo Solutions’ customer decision journey.
In the first full month of the new website going live, the chemicals and plastics divisions saw a combined increase in margin generation of 114.35%.
Nexeo Solutions officially merged with Univar Solutions on March 1st, 2019. The new website had performed so well that the new business used the Nexeo Solutions website design, technology, and user experience when launching their new merged website, https://www.univarsolutions.com/.
