2021 Houston AMA Crystal Award Winner

At the recent Houston AMA Crystal Awards, TopSpot was honored to have been among the finalists for the sixth year in a row. The Crystal Awards are put on by the Houston Chapter of the American Marketing Association and this year received 300 entries from over 70 companies. 

For 2021, TopSpot was named a finalist in five categories: Digital Marketing: Google Analytics, Digital Marketing: Paid Search Campaign, Business to Business Website, Business to Consumer Website, and Most Improved Website. 

We are especially excited to have won in the B2C Website category for our work with The Shade Shop! 

Houston AMA Crystal Award Winner: B2C Website for The Shade Shop 

The Shade Shop supplies custom window coverings to the greater Houston metropolitan area. Prior to the pandemic, their showroom was their number one sales tool. That changed when people could no longer come into the store. This was even more disruptive because they are in a highly competitive local market.

For a company whose showroom was their number one selling point, the closures from the pandemic hit especially hard. When designing the new website, the Team knew that the online showroom would have to make a major impact. The 360-degree view of the showroom allows customers to feel like they are physically at the store. Easy to find on the site and easy to use, the online showroom was a hit with customers visiting the site.  

The Shade Shop has a lot of local competition and recognized that they needed their website to differentiate themselves in a local B2C market. This made it especially important to focus on local strategies that helped this business stand out from the rest.

Meet Our Finalists

Digital Marketing – Google Analytics for Air Filters Inc. 

Air Filters Inc. (AFI) supplies stock and custom air filters for a variety of industries. In March of 2020, when the pandemic first began, the TopSpot Team worked with AFI to determine a course of action. They would use Google Analytics data to identify new opportunities to increase online sales and website-generated leads.

Finalist: Digital Marketing – Paid Search Campaign for Brown Wood Inc. 

Brown Wood Inc. works with various industry professionals to provide high-quality wood components for homes and commercial projects. Throughout the year, the TopSpot Team worked with Brown Wood to come up with effective and efficient ways to decrease the program’s cost per click while simultaneously generating more leads for the business.

Finalist: B2B Website for PneuTech 

Pneumatic Technology (PneuTech) is a supplier of air products for assembly and automation. Their previous website was outdated and difficult to use, so when they were purchased by TopSpot Client, The Jack Olsta Co., they received a new user-friendly website that matched the styling and functionalities of their new parent company’s website.

Finalist: Most Improved Website for Laguna Crane Services LLC 

Laguna Crane Services is a family-owned & operated company that provides Crane Operator Training, Inspections, Parts and Services. A client since 2018, they turned to TopSpot when they were ready to launch a new website.  Laguna Crane’s Customer Relationship Team worked to develop an initial sitemap that focused on SEO and usability to drive quality leads aligned with Laguna Crane’s business goals.
